What is HUS?

Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) is a rare disease which mainly affects children under five years of age and more rarely adults. Acute renal failure is one of the most frequent causes in children in particular and dialysis is often needed as a result. As yet no specific cure for HUS exists.
